Please use the following instructions to change your password when ITS has provided you with a temporary password.

Note: Please be aware that once you have changed your NCSSM password, you will need to also update your saved password information for Wi-Fi and email access on all of your devices, including smartphones, tablets, etc. If you do not update them quickly, it is likely that your account will be locked by repeated failed login attempts.

Instructions

  1. In your web browser of choice, navigate to: password.ncssm.edu

  2. Type in your NCSSM username and the temporary password supplied by ITS and click Sign inNote: If you don't remember your username or password, then you'll need to contact ITS to get it reset. See below for instructions on how to do so.

  3. If logging into this password management site for the first time, you will be asked to answer several security questions so that you can reset the password yourself in the future using the Forgotten Password button.

  4. At the home page, please click on the tile that says Change Password (see below).

  5. For the New Password, type in the same password that you would like to use, with a minimum length of 10 characters. For Confirm Password, type the same thing.

  6. Click the Change Password button to save your password.

  7. As a test, go to mail.ncssm.edu and try your username and password. It should work. If not, please let us know by creating a help ticket using the below instructions.

If you are unable to complete any of the above steps, please let us know by creating a help ticket from the ITS Help Desk link on My NCSSM or sending an email to: ithelp@ncssm.edu
