Google Drive security update and permissions changes

This month, Google released a security update to Google Drive in order to make file sharing more secure. This changed the links for some files, and may lead to access requests for files you’ve previously shared. Please see the example below. (Note: access will not change for anyone that has already viewed the files.) You may also preempt these new access requests by redistributing the updated file links from Google Drive.

For more information on this update, please see this article from Google. For more information on how to share a link from files in your Google Drive, please refer to these instructions.

If you run into any issues, or have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please don’t hesitate to contact ITS via ticket at ithelp.ncssm.edu or by emailing ithelp@ncssm.edu-ITS and TLC
