Padlet allows you to create an online post-it board that you can easily share with students. Students can post text images, videos, and even drawings to a Padlet wall. Students can comment on and like each other's posts. Padlet can be a fun alternative to discussion forums, especially when you wish students to post images. There are a lot of creative uses for Padlet.

Getting Started with Padlet

Embedding a Padlet in Canvas

Embedding a Padlet in your course is easy.

Padlets, by default, are set so they are secret, so people without the link should not be able to find them. But those you have shared links with can post to the Padlets. This means all you need to do is embed a Padlet into your course and students can automatically post to it.

All you need to do is copy the embed code and paste it into Canvas.

Privacy Settings in Padlet

If you would like to take added precautions to keep a Padlet wall more private, we recommend changing the share settings to "Password." Then type the password onto the Canvas page and embed the Padlet beneath the password.

EXAMPLE PASSWORD-PROTECTED PADLET

To view the Password-Protected Padlet, enter the password "unicorns”.
