Screencastify is a free Chrome extension that students can use to record their computer screens. The free version records videos up to 10 minutes and includes screen annotation tools. It automatically saves the videos to Google Drive for easy sharing.

Another freely-available option for screen recording that does not have the 10-minute limitation is Loom.

Student Guide for Using Screencastify

This guide is intended for students in your courses. If you create assignments that require students to record their screens, this is a good guide to include for students.

You could ask students to demonstrate graphing an equation, give a PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation, or demonstrate using software or computer programming.

You can also share this Screencastify Video Tutorial (Links to an external site.) with your students.
