Sharing Classroom Recordings (Panopto)

This video explains how to share classroom recordings with students.
When set up correctly, class recordings are automatically shared with students in the matching canvas course. Please use caution when sharing with people outside of each class. These instructions will allow you to share class recordings with other NCSSM students or faculty when it may benefit them, but please do not share class recordings outside of NCSSM without permission.
Classroom recordings should always be shared only with specific people and groups. Do not change the permissions to anything else.
Instructions
Log into Panopto
Log into Panopto by visiting http://coursevideos.ncssm.edu or http://ncssm.hosted.panopto.com. Choose NCSSM Login.
Locate Video
Choose Browse
Choose My Folders
Click on Canvas Courses to view folders corresponding to courses you’ve taught. (Some previous courses may appear outside of this folder. You can use the search bar to search for specific years or folders).
When locating a course folder, pay attention to the prefix. It contains the year, term, and program. For example, a course taught in the Online program may start with “2020-21 NCSSM Online Semester 1.” Paying attention to these prefixes is especially important if you teach in multiple programs.
Select Video(s) to share
Share an entire folder:
Open the folder
Click the share icon.
Share an individual video:
Hover over the video. A menu of options will appear.
Click the Share button.
Share Multiple Videos:
Hover over a video until the tick-box appears in the thumbnail. Use the tick-boxes to select all videos you wish to share.
Click the Share button.
Share Videos
On the share settings screen, type the name of the student(s) with whom you wish to share videos.
Select the correct student name.
Finish sharing by:
Ensuring the correct student(s) are chosen.
Choose to Notify People and include a message to the student(s) (optional).
Press the Send button.
Students will receive an email from Panopto notifying them of the shared video(s) or folder. Students can also access shared videos by visiting http://coursevideos.ncssm.edu or ncssm.hosted.panopto.com.
