Front Desk/Visitor Process
All visitors are required to check in at the Goodwin Front Desk upon arrival to campus unless alternative arrangements have been approved in advance with Campus Safety.
If employees are expecting visitors, please utilize google calendar to alert the front desk in advance of the visit. All employees can add “Morganton Front Desk Events/Visitors” as a guest to their calendar event. This will also give the Administrative Associate the opportunity to review the request in advance and be prepared to greet visitors upon their arrival to campus and direct to them to the correct contact.
Once guests arrive to campus and are checked in, employees should meet their visitor at the Goodwin front desk. If you are anticipating a guest on campus, please plan to arrive at the front desk a few minutes in advance of their arrival.
Visitors must have an accompanying employee or student with them at all times.

Checking in at the Front Desk (Verkada)
All visitors to NCSSM-Morganton must sign in on the iPad at the front desk with the Verkada system. The Verkada system will ask for the following information from each guest:
Reason for Visit
Phone number
Email address
Photo ID
Campus Host
Once all information is submitted and approved, a visitor pass will print for the guest to wear while on campus and the employee/student will receive an email notifying them of their visitor’s arrival in Goodwin Lobby. Once you receive the notification email, please come to the Goodwin Front Lobby to meet your guest.
If you are an employee visiting from Durham, please check in at the front desk of Goodwin Hall by providing your employee ID.
Morganton Staff Calendar
We ask that all Morganton employees, faculty and staff, utilize this shared NCSSM calendar to record any time out of the office or extended periods of remote work. This assists our administrative teams with scheduling and allows for clearer communication across the institution. Durham employees can also utilize this calendar to indicate when they will be visiting or working from Morganton’s campus.

Create an Event for Time Off/Out of Office:
Open the Staff Google Calendar and click on the desired date.
Select "Out of office" from the event options.
Set the start and end time/date.
Customize the title (e.g., "John Doe - Vacation" or "Jane Smith - Out of Office").
Add any necessary details in the description (e.g., contact person during absence).
Set the Visibility and Notifications:
Set the event as public.
Set notifications or reminders if needed.
Office Supplies / Break Room Restock
Every Friday, break rooms, faculty hubs, and copiers are replenished across campus. Toner levels are also checked in each copier at least once per month. If you have a request for office supplies on campus, or notice a certain set of supplies running low, please notify Sasha Freeman by using the form below.
You can also use this form for a special request. Keep in mind that if you request an item that is not already provided, it will go to AdOps Team for review. The AdOps Team will then follow up on next steps for ordering or options for alternative items.

Special Events, Lost and Found and Deliveries/DoorDash
For delivery of food or items to the front desk by parents/guardians(special events) - Please email the Administrative Operation (AdOps) team (adopshelp@ncssm.edu) in advance of the delivery date. We can make sure all items are kept safe and secure and allow storage space if needed.
For lost-and-found items: Please attach a note saying where the item was found and the date it was delivered to the front desk. Items will be stored by staff at the front desk until claimed by students or employees.
For DoorDash or food delivery to campus:
All items must have a name on the order
If you (or someone else) order items and you receive notification that it has been delivered, please come to collect the order immediately
If the order was delivered to the flagpole and you do not pick it up - it will be brought to the front desk. If you do not pick up your order by 5 PM that same day - the order will be discarded.
Morganton Vehicles Processes
To request a vehicle for travel, Campus Safety requires the following steps:
Driver Agreement: Ensure a signed Driver Agreement form is on file.
Vehicle Request Form: Complete the https://ncssm.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/20/create/238 . The form will ask for:
Trip title
The person or department submitting the request
Departure and return date/time
Destination address(es)
Total number of travelers
The form must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to trip departure. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive a google calendar invitation. Your reservation is not confirmed until you receive the invitation. You will pick up the keys at the Security Hub.
Key Pickup & Return Guidelines:
Keys can be picked up no earlier than 30 minutes before your scheduled departure.
Keys must be returned no later than 30 minutes after your return to campus.
Please verify that both the van keys and gas card are included in the key bag when picking up and returning the keys.
End of Trip Checklist:
Upon completion of your trip, you will receive an email from Vehicle Reservations with a Google form that must be filled out immediately and will include the following:
Be sure to remove all personal items and trash from the vehicle.
If the fuel level is below half a tank, refill the vehicle using the correct fuel.
Note any damages or issues that need attention by Campus Safety.
If you refuel the vehicle, please upload a photo of the receipt to the Google form.

Printer Protocol / Notifications if a Printer Goes Down
