Camtasia

Camtasia is software you can use to record your computer screen and webcam. It's a simple way to create tutorial videos or record slide presentations and lectures. 

If students need screen recording functionality, we recommend Loom, which is free for students and educators. Loom is also a great choice for teachers who do not need the advanced functionality of Camtasia.

How to Use Camtasia

Camtasia Basics

For most uses, the basic features in Camtasia are all you'll need:

• recording your screen

• trimming out unwanted parts

• sharing the video with Panopto or another service

Camtasia Certification Courses

Tech-Smith Academy offers free certification courses in Camtasia and Snagit for NCSSM employees. Create an account using your NCSSM email address to access the courses and become a Camtasia expert.

Media Library

Camtasia also has a library of songs and other media you can use in your videos. To access, login or create a Tech-Smith account using your NCSSM email address.
