Record a Zoom meeting that is not part of a class

This guide explains how to use Zoom Cloud Recording for meetings that are not part of a course in Canvas. This includes meetings scheduled through Google Calendar or the Zoom application, but does not include meetings scheduled by clicking the Zoom link inside a Canvas course.

Using Cloud Recording for Zoom meetings outside of class

You can also use Zoom cloud recording for any zoom meetings. If you schedule a meeting using the Zoom website or the Google Calendar plugin, or the meeting is not associated with any Canvas course, your cloud recording will be stored for you on the Panopto website.

  1. Access Panopto by visiting coursevideos.ncssm.edu

  2. Look in the “Meeting Recordings” folder inside your “My Folder” folder.

Any time you use cloud recording for a meeting that was not scheduled using the Zoom link inside a Canvas course, the recordings will go to the “Meeting Recordings” folder in your “My Folder.” You can move these recordings to other folders in Panopto, or you can share links to them.
