Embed a Panopto Video on a Website

This guide explains how to embed a video in Panopto on a website using an embed code. If you need to embed a video in a Canvas course, we recommend using this guide to embedding a Panopto video in Canvas.

Instructions:

1. While viewing the video you wish to embed, click the “share” icon.

2. Copy the embed code by doing the following:

   1. Ensure the sharing permissions are set so that others can view the video. For embedding a video on the web, this should be set to Public.

   2. Click the Embed button.

   3. (optional) Edit the embedding settings

   4. Choose the Interactivity level using the pull-down menu. We recommend setting this to “None” for embedding on the web. (Panopto allows students to rate, search, and discuss videos in a pop-up window when interactivity is enabled. This is unnecessary for the public web).

   5. Choose to Copy Embed Code.
      
      

      Open

      

This will give you an embed code you can paste into the website.
